Father's Day 2021
Father’s Day 2021
I ended up having a really nice day yesterday. If I was honest with myself, I’d say it was a little too much of a ‘lazy day’ but hey, every once in a while that’s the way it goes when you’re the #1 DAD.
The day started off by recovering from a late-night bonfire from the night before. The Bucks beat the Nets in Game 7 and I listened to the end of the game on the radio. Emily and I stayed up late chatting, so I woke up smelling like smoke and smores.
Anya wanted to start off by opening gifts. I got a sweet #1 DAD hat and her matching hat said #1 Kid. The next gift was a metal solo cup that said 'Top Shelf Dad’ and I also received some toy water guns that Anya and I can use in the little inflatable pool I bought her last week.
After gifts, Emily went to pick up my new favorite breakfast from La Finca Coffeehouse. I love their chorizo breakfast tacos and they hit the spot after a late night! It took me almost 40 years, but I’m developing a taste for corn tortillas over flour. Later we talked about going to the Greenfield Farmer’s Market but we decided to skip that. Later in the afternoon, Emily took Anya to see “In The Heights” while I watched the U.S. Open around 2 pm. I also had a nice chat with my old college roommate and good friend Seth. It was great to catch up and chat on the phone. I kinda miss talking on the phone like that, it made me think that I should schedule more time to just call people and reconnect and see how they are doing.
By the end of the day, around 6 pm, Emily and Anya came home with my favorite pizza from Papa Murphys, the Chicken Bacon Artichoke. I don't know why, but that pizza is so good and hit’s the spot from me! I love garlic-based white sauce pizza’s so I think that has a huge part of my love for it!
Emily and Anya went to bed, and I called it a night around 9:30 pm myself. I really wanted to do/host my first Twitter Spaces around 10 pm, but I was a little too tired and bailed on that idea.
Overall it was a fun and relaxing Father’s Day. Big thank you to Emily and Anya for making it fun and special!
