Basically what we have here is a bunch of rich guys getting upset because someone new came to town and beat them at their own game - with their own ball, on their own court.
A couple of days ago I was thinking of old rap songs I used to listen to, and one of my favorites was Int’l Players Anthem (I Choose You) by UGK featuring OutKast. Knowing they used a sample in the song, I googled it, and found out about “Willie Hutch” and his song “I Choose You”.
We are different people as we age, we change, we evolve, and some things we once disliked strongly may be enjoyable now. Is there something you tried 5, 10, 15 years ago that might be willing to give a second chance?
Luckily, this movie is so incredible that you can know the ending of it and the movie still makes you paralyzed with fear. Immediately as a viewer, you have to ask yourself, “Who would do something like this?” And the movie does a great job of laying out exactly the kind of person who would, Alex.
I’m fascinated with Zane Lowe’s ability to interview people within the music industry. Zane’s ability to pace the conversation and gently flow between nuances within a topic is what keeps the listener engaged and learning more about the artist.
Buscaglia quickly sets the table of the environment and culture he’s in and moves swiftly into a personal anecdote of a personal interaction he has with a member of the community. It’s very engaging and I found myself being able to imagine these places quite easily.
After doing some research and listening to other podcasts he has done, it was easy to fall in love with the story and persona of Goggins. He constantly talked about being uncommon and how many of us left so much on the floor of life, physically, but also mentally.
Whether your sick of the weather, turned off by the blue collar attitude or you think it’s not cosmopolitan enough, it’s undeniable that there is a warmth to Wisconsin. It’s a feeling of camaraderie that can be started with a simple beer, a small gift, or a free drink.
