FAMILY

My wife and I recently celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary. We first saw John McGivern’s one-man show at the Pabst Theater “Up Close (but not too close)” - highly recommend! It was a fun show full of stories about growing up in Milwaukee and he rounded everything out with very thoughtful takes on covid. After the show, we had dinner at Joey Gerard’s Supper Club and finished the night with drinks at At Random in their private plastic igloos.

I also grabbed my boat out of storage, so I’ll be working on getting it prepped for the summer.

WORK

I have a few things to wrap up from 2020, but luckily my 2021 season has started and I’ve filmed 2 weddings already. I have had some questions about moving 2021 weddings to 2022 already. I hope that doesn’t become the norm, it’s already been hard enough staying afloat, I can’t have another down year. I also tried my hand at live streaming ceremonies and it was a disaster. The 5G hotspot I was using did well before and after the ceremony, but for some reason, it didn’t have the speed during the ceremony. I’ve also begun working with my friend Ian again at Essential Tennis, doing some filming and editing.

HOME

I have been and will continue to do a little housework here and there. Once the weather gets a little warmer I’ll be focusing on the yard. I plan on having a little garden this year. I also need to replace the front steps, yard fencing, and roof.

HEALTH

I recently had some tendonitis in my left knee and some joint pain. I’m sure this is due to alcohol and some unclean eating. I need to get back to lower carb meals, increasing water, and working on reducing inflammation. Once my knee feels better I’ll be more likely to walk in the mornings before the house wakes up.

Listening

Highly recommend a recent podcast: #1643 - Jonathan Zimmerman

I’m on Clubhouse (craigsikora) and it’s been refreshing to listen to live audio again. I stop listening to AM radio because I couldn't handle the commercials. I’m looking forward to seeing how Twitter Spaces works out. Either way, it’s nice to have a live talk about current topics rather than a delayed talk on podcasts.

I still listen to an hour or two of Art Bell at night using the TuneIn App. You can search Art Bell and there are multiple streams to choose from. My personal favorite is the purple one with two aliens.

My top podcasts are currently: Joe Rogan, Tim Dillon, Ryen Russillo, All In with Chamath, Jason, Sacks and Friedberg, Michael Malice, Tin Foil Hat, Earth Ancients, Animal Spirits, Lex Fridman

Watching

I really enjoyed Ted Lasso on Apple TV

I listen to JC Parets on Clubhouse every day at 10:30 am

The Halftime Report on CNBC - 11 am

The Compound - Josh Brown / Jimmy Dore / Timcast IRL / Michael Malice on YouTube once in a while at night

Every night as a family we usually watch one episode of Family Matters on HULU and it has been really fun to see that show again and watch it through a kid's eyes 30 years later!
